Do you feel tired all of the time? Do you fall asleep at times when you need to be awake? Do you need extra cups of coffee to keep you going through the day? Do family members say you snore loudly and hold your breath in your sleep? Do you awaken with morning headaches?

If you answer yes to these questions, you may have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a medical condition to be concerned about. When you have sleep apnea, you may appear to stop breathing for up to 90 seconds or more at a time. If sleep apnea goes untreated, long-term health effects such as high blood pressure and heart failure can occur.

If snoring and daytime tiredness are affecting your life, call the Sleep Disorders Center of St. Peter's. The Hospital's professional Sleep Disorders Center staff can tell you how to get a referral for evaluation. A sleep evaluation at St. Peter's Sleep Disorders Center is very private and painless, and its competitive prices are covered by most insurance plans.
