The doors to Pete's Place Child Care Center opened November 3, 1986. As an employer sponsored child care center, Pete's Place accepts children of St. Peter's Hospital employees and staff on a first priority basis. Any openings not filled by hospital employees or medical staff are offered to non-hospital applicants.

Pete's Place maintains a daily enrollment of apporximately 48 children, ages six weeks through six years. Located on the Hospital campus, the Center is divided into three areas to serve infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Flexible scheduling offers full, half and quarter day care. The center is open from 6:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Pete's Place provides a full theme based pre-school program exploring such topics as dinosaurs and outer space.
