The Dialysis Unit at St. Peters Hospital is established for the purpose of providing quality care for patients with kidney disease. Treatments are provided for patients with both end stage and acute kidney failure utilizing hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and other procedures. Home peritoneal dialysis training and follow-up is also offered and encouraged for suitable candidates. Arrangements for kidney transplantation are facilitated through this department.
The Dialysis Unit takes care of both outpatients and inpatients. The unit is located on the main floor of the Hospital across from the Intensive Care Unit. There are nine approved hemodialysis stations, eight of which are in a common area and one isolation room. This will increase the capacity to 13 stations in the main area with the remaining one isolation room.
